Our Vision

A better world starts with building better communities.

Movement On The Ground

We are an entrepreneurial NGO that was founded in 2015 in Lesvos Greece. At the core of all our missions stands our Camp to CampUs approach. Following that approach, we build a community, together with (camp) residents. Not for them, but with them. With this approach, we stimulate the social participation of newcomers and sustainably facilitate social & local integration within a community. Curious about our Camp to CampUs approach?

More about the role and your team

As the Director of Funds and Impact, you’ll play a crucial role within our Amsterdam Support Office. You’ll be a key member of MOTG’s management team, leading our small teams in Fundraising, Marketing, Socials and Impact. We’re looking for someone who can effectively navigate across these diverse disciplines and create a strong connection between them. While fundraising and impact are the primary focus, marketing and social media also play significant roles in achieving our targets, necessitating collaborative efforts across these areas. Although you will be based in Amsterdam, you will also maintain close communication with our colleagues working from our ground missions.

Your challenge

As an NGO we rely on incoming funds, donations, support and subsidies. You will identify funding opportunities, cultivate strong relationships, and ensure our efforts contribute to achieving funding targets. Our ideal candidate will possess a combination of financial acumen, project management skills, and a passion for making a positive impact for the people who had to flee their homes. Your main tasks will be:

·       Creating a Fundraising Strategy

Conduct research to pinpoint potential funding outlets, such as grants and corporate alliances. Craft and execute a thorough fundraising strategy that aligns with the organization’s missions and goals. Work closely with MOTG’s Management and the fundraisers to set the fundraising targets and to determine key priorities.

·       Relationship Management

Keep in touch with current and potential donors: individuals, corporates, foundations and government entities. Share regular updates on the impact of their contributions. Develop strategies to actively involve donors and show appreciation through events, newsletters and personalized communication. You are one of the faces of MOTG externally and possess a substantial relevant network.

·       Creating Impact

Collaborate with the impact team to develop strategies that enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of our missions. Measure and analyze the impact of ongoing initiatives and make necessary adjustments as required.

·       Financial Oversight

Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate tracking and documentation of funding sources, expenses, and budget projections. Monitor financial progress to meet fundraising targets and suggest adjustments as needed. Assist in creating budgets for grant proposals and fundraising campaigns.

·       Marketing

You develop and maintain the marketing strategy, ensuring its execution and the growth of our (inter) national visibility. Besides that, you ensure the development of effective campaigns.

·       Leadership and Team Management

Guide and inspire colleagues from different disciplines to collaborate synergistically. Foster the development of individual team members, promote a positive work culture and encourage professional growth.

Some things we love to find with you

  • An alignment with our mission, value and ambition to create a positive impact in the world;
  • Preferably more than 7 years of working experience in a relevant field;

  • Capacity to bring people together and to inspire team members to run the extra mile;
  • Flexibility and patience in a continuously changing and challenging environment;
